(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - This is according to Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary General of Bahrain’s Al-Wefaq Society while addressing mourners at a ceremony held to mark the anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) martyrdom, Al-Wefaq website reported.The ceremony was held in Setra region on Sunday, November 17, the 12th day of Muharram in the lunar Hijri calendar.He said the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) taught everyone that Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice is a necessary task for all Muslims.Sheikh Salman stated that the February 14 revolution of the people of Bahrain was started to carry out this very religious duty.He underlined that abandoning this religious obligation will lead to the domination of falsehood and vice.The Bahraini uprising began in mid-February 2011. Protesters initially called for political reforms and a constitutional monarchy, a demand that later changed to an outright call for the ouster of the ruling Al Khalifa family following its brutal crackdown on popular protests./149
