(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hundreds of Shia Muslims in Myanmar observed Ashoura, one of the religion’s holiest days on Friday.
Ashoura is the tenth day of the Islamic month of Muharram, which commemorates the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussein, in a 7th century battle.
In Yangon, Myanmar, hundreds observed Ashuoura at religious places. Mourners offered prayers during the procession, ritually whipped their bodies with chains in grief and then chanted slogans against the US and Israel.
