(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A workshop on Qadir was held in Sierra Leones capital of Freetown on Thursday, October 24.It was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in the country with the participation of students from Freetown universities.The workshop aimed to clarify the event of Qadir Khum, in which Imam Ali (AS) was announced as the successor of Holy Prophet (PBUH).Irans Cultural Attaché in Sierra Leone Mohammad Reza Qezelsofla delivered a speech in the workshop, elaborating on the last Hajj of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the tenth year after Hijra and the importance of that Hajj pilgrimage in selecting the next leader of the Islamic Ummah.He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on that day announced Imam Ali (AS) as his successor and thus declared the Wilayat (leadership) of the 12 Imams (AS) until the end of the world.Mr. Qezelsofla also discussed the Khutba (sermon) of Qadir and the importance of Wilayat and Imamate.Eid Al-Qadir, which marks the anniversary of the event of Qadir Khum, was celebrated on Thursday, October 24./129
