Taliban, US Playing Fixed Match to Deceive the World People: Pakistan Main Shia Group

Azmat-e-Wilayat Conference, a mammoth public meeting of Shia Muslims, strongly opposed strategic dialogue with the US and peace talks with Taliban saying that they were playing a fixed-match to hoodwink the world people.

KARACHI, Pakistan (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Azmat-e-Wilayat Conference, a mammoth public meeting of Shia Muslims, strongly opposed strategic dialogue with the US and peace talks with Taliban saying that they were playing a fixed-match to hoodwink the world people.

Tens of thousands of supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) thronged Nishtar Park to endorse what the MWM’s chief, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, called a ‘referendum against the pro-terrorism policies of the government’.

Amid the slogans of Labbaik Ya Ali (AS) and Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS), the MWM leaders said that self-reliance is the true path that the concept of ‘Wilayat’ has taught to Muslims.

“Wilayat is a divine system of leadership and guidance for human beings,” Jafari said.

“Commander of the faithful, Hazrat Ali, was the divine leader and guide,” he stressed.

“He fought a counterterrorism and counterinsurgency war and our government should follow him,” urged Jafari, referring to the historical circumstances when Hazrat Ali had ascended the caliphate.

The first three caliphs sought advice from Hazrat Ali (AS) and implementation of his policies brought stability and prosperity. Therefore, the government should act upon the true path taught by Hazrat Ali (AS), Jafari said.

Prominent Shia scholars spoke at the conference in which people from every nook and corner of Sindh province participated.

No talks with terrorists

In the resolutions adopted at the Azmat-e-Wilayat Conference, the policy of dialogue with the terrorists was opposed. It demanded Swat-like military operation to rid whole of the country of terrorists.

"There should be no talks with the Taliban...We will always support the oppressed," Jafari said.

He said that negotiations with militants will only result in more terror attacks and more corpses to bury.

When speaking about the security situation in the month of Muharram, another top leader of the group Allama Ameen Shahidi said that there have always been dangers.

He said that attempts to stifle the 'Ulema' and threats to stop processions during Muharram are being received by them.

Fixed match

It said that a fixed match is being played between the terrorists and the US to prolong their two-pronged anti-Pakistan terrorism. It said that neither the US nor the terrorists can be friends of Pakistan because both of them have attacked Pakistan and Pakistanis including civilians and military personnel.

Therefore, the conference rejects strategic dialogue with the US and hypocritical dialogue with the outlawed Taliban’s terrorists, it stressed.
