Abridged ‘Al-Ghadir’ unveiled

An abridged version of ‘Al-Ghadir’, a book written by the renowned Iranian Shiite scholar Abdolhossein Alameh Amini, was unveiled at the headquarters of the International Qur’an News Agency.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The book titled ‘Khate Roshan’ (Light Line) is a summarized version of the 11-volume ‘Al-Ghadir’, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Hossein Mashkoori, manager of Khorshid Institute, which is involved in publication of religious work, said.The 200-page book has been released by Ma’aref Publications affiliated to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s Bureau in Universities.Alameh Amini compiled narratives by 110 companions as well as 40 followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about ‘Ghadir-e Khom’, Iran Daily reported.Shiite Muslims celebrate the event which marks the day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) appointed Imam Ali (AS), the First Shiite Imam, as his successor.Meanwhile, Mashkoori also inaugurated the website (www.kanoonkhorshid.ir) which intends to introduce Shiite ideology and its doctrines based on precious works such as ‘Al-Ghadir’.“The main objective of establishing Khorshid Institute was to allay the Leader’s concerns with respect to safeguarding the doctrines and divine values of ‘Ghadir-e Khom,” he said.Irrespective of their beliefs, ethnicity and education, ‘Ghadir-e Khom’ belongs to all Muslims worldwide, he said.Pointing to the activities of the institute, he stated that holding prayers to mark ‘Ghadir Khom’ is on the agenda.Khorshid Institute has also uploaded a copy of ‘Sahifeh Sajadieh’ on its website. The book is said to be the oldest prayer manual in Islamic sources and one of the most seminal works of Islamic spirituality pertaining to Imam Sajjad (AS), the Fourth Shiite Imam. /129
