(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Top Bahraini Shia leader underlined that the followers of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) are opposed to insulting the Sahaba (Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) companions).
Addressing worshipers in Manama’s Imam Sadeq (AS) Mosque on Friday, Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem condemned the insulting move against the Sahaba in a Baghdad district in Iraq, and said Shias are against such moves, olamaa.net website reported.
The senior cleric said desecration of sanctities, no matter by who, is unjustifiable and only provokes Fitna (sedition).
He stressed that the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is against sectarianism and promotes upholding unity in the Muslim Ummah.
He also denounced the Takfir Fatwas issued to excommunicate Muslims, saying that such Fatwas have endangered the unity in the Muslim Ummah and are the origin of seditions.
Ayatollah Qassem further pointed to the situation in Bahrain and said the Bahraini nation does not consider the fate of its movement to be related to regional and global developments.
He said making the crisis in Bahrain more complicated will be to the detriment of the nation and those who impede the resolution of the crisis will also bear the consequences.
In other news, Bahrainis took to the streets in large numbers on Friday calling for free elections and the withdrawal of Saudi forces from the country.
The anti-regime demonstrations on Friday were staged in Manama at the invitation of the February 14 Coalition.
