Opposition parties has a rejuvenation project to end the tyranny in Bahrain

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sheikh Ali Salman, the Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society assured that the opposition parties in Bahrain carry a political project that leads to a way out of the current political tyranny. The project, he said, stands on citizenship and equality between all categories and individuals of the society.“The opposition’s political project aims to transfer Bahrain to a state of democracy and end the current monopoly of a certain group by handing power to the people. This will pave the way for an integral rejuvenation project where there will be no place for a privileged group”, he said.His statements were made in the weekly “Manama Dialogue” event in its first episode which discussed “The National Democratic Opposition Parties’ project to rejuvenate andmodernize Bahrain”. The Manama Dialogue event is open to the public and aims to present an effective and meaningful political discussion. It also aims to revise political concepts and entrench political awareness in the society.He said the opposition parties’ project is very clearly presented in their statements like the Manama Document. The opposition’s project expresses a clear political vision of a mixture of ideological backgrounds, which Wefaq is one of, but all these parties agree on the common project, he added, this is what makes it a national project. The project focuses on political reform that addresses the issues to achieve economical and social rejuvenation.He highlighted the principles of the requested political system for rejuvenation in Bahrain, through:1-    The spirit of harmony to all mankind far from hatred and retaliation2-    Justice without exclusion or discrimination3-    Citizenship4-  Equality: meaning no privilege to a certain family, tribe, religion, sect, ethnicity or any political or ideological group.5-    Abiding to international standards and covenants in the issues of human rights, freedom and the political system instead of the claimed and non-agreed-upon extreme explanations of religious references or historical or cultural references.6-    Realizing power to the people through ballot boxes of free and transparent elections to make the people the source of all powers.7-    Separation of powers8-    Sovereignty of the lawIn the event, Salman said, “The decision to fire ammunition at any permanent sit-in makes it difficult, and this is what we have seen in Egypt. However, this does not mean that we cancel this option. We may, one day, take a decision to hold a permanent sit-in knowing that it will be crushed, but only after we take into consideration the price and the results”./129
