(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Liberties and Human Rights Department in Al Wefaq has revealed that the Bahraini Authorities have committed 1900 infringements of 9 different types of violations. The 1900 violations were all perpetrated during the month of September 2013 – see illustration 1.In September, 214 were arrested, including 40 children and 2 women. Most were arrested in home raids or from streets, as 122 and 72 were arrested from streets – see illustration 2.It is worth mentioning that the number of arrests among children in September have reached a peak of 40 in comparison with the past five months –see illustration 3.Around 150 were released, however, only 73 were of those 214 arrested in the same month. The LHRD has documented around 205 raids, and which were mostly concentrated in areas which witness routine protests. The security forces usually damage the private property and belongings of the households during their illegal raids. The LHRD recorded 13 cases where the security forces caused damage to private property by throwing teargas canisters inside homes, smashing windows of houses and cars. This type of practice is usually carried out during police attacks on demonstrations.   In 53 cases, the security forces practiced torture and cruel treatment, most of which included severe beating during attacks on sporadic protests. The security forces attacked at least 251 protests. However, around 32 protesters were injured with fire arms (shotgun) and by directly targeting protesters with teargas and C4 canisters. Finally, in connection with trials, 111 defendants have been tried and handed sentences of different levels. This number is distributed on 9 cases in which the defendants were charged for either offending the king, burning tires, calling for unauthorized protests, assembling, possessing fire arms, attacking the police, attempted murder, possession of Molotov cocktails, organizing terror groups, bombings.   100 Bahrainis have been handed sentences between 5, 10 and 15 years. 9 others were given sentences in the range of 6 months, 15 months and 3 years.
