(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The book is written in accordance with international standards in Quranic studies and is in fact the gist of 150 years of studies by westerners on the holy Quran. Published by Leiden University Press, the original English version of the encyclopedia is arranged in five volumes under the supervision of grand masters of Islamic studies from various countries in Netherlands. The Persian rendition of the collection is arranged in 6 volumes and its first volume has just been released in the Iranian book market by Hekmat Publications. Leiden University is one of Europe’s leading centers with focus on Islamic studies. The collection entails as many as 700 entries which include events, figures and believes in the holy Quran as well as discussions and challenging topics in Quranic studies. A history of the holy Quran, Quranic terms, Quranic stories, and Quranic literature and languages are some of the major topics pursued in the work’s entries. 5,000 copies of volume I of the Persian rendition have been released in Iran./149

The 1st volume of the Persian rendition of the holy Quran Encyclopedia with editions and translations by Hussein Khandaq Abadi, Masoud Sadeghi, Mehrdad Abbasi and Amir Maziar has been released in the Iranian book market.
