(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Quba mosque is also among the must see attractions in Medina.
This is a place where Prophet Mohammad stopped when he first arrived in Medina. Quba is the first mosque after the migration of Prophet Mohammad. A beautiful mosque with extreme historical significance.
While visiting Quba, we asked the pilgrims about the value and significance of the mosque.
Qiblatain is a mosque in Medina which is among the three oldest mosques in Islam's history. Qiblatain is historically important for Muslims, as it’s the place where Prophet Muhammad is said to have been commanded by God to change the direction of prayer from Jerusalem (al-Quds) to Mecca.
This is Ghamama mosque, which is located south-west of Masjid an-Nabi in central Medina. It is built on the site where Prophet Muhammad is said to have performed a special prayer for rain.
The word “ghamam” in Arabic means clouds which is said to have suddenly appeared and brought rain after the prophet performed the prayer.
For all the pilgrims who are now visiting Saudi Arabia one thing is clear. They believe that preserving religious and historical sites in the country is significant for passing on the Islamic culture and civilization to the future generations.
