(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - An Encyclopedia of Common Concepts in Islam and Christianity has been published in Germany.
The Herder Publishing House in the city of Freiburg published the work with the aim of clarifying fundamental concepts that are common between Islam and Christianity, Al-Misri Al-Yawm daily reported.
It also aims to promote understanding among the followers of the two Abrahamic faiths.
Richard Heinzmann professor of religious studies and one of the authors of the encyclopedia said it was written in two volumes and that its main purpose was encouraging interactions and fostering understanding between Christians and Muslims.
Muslim and Christian scholars from Germany and Turkey have cooperated in writing the work, trying to answer questions by German public opinion about such concepts as Jihad, Sharia, and the Holy Spirit.
Islam’s view of women, importance of democracy, and religious freedom in Islam and Christianity are some of the themes discussed in this work.
