Al-Wefaq demands release of Redha Mayouf to attend his wife’s funeral

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society demands the immediate release of the detainee Redha Mayouf who has gone on hunger strike since his wife passed away. Mayouf’s wife had entered a long coma before delivery and death.Al-Wefaq stresses that religion, human conscience, laws and covenants all ensure that in a case such as Redha’s, he must be freed to attend his wife’s funeral and burial. Depriving him this right goes against all norms and principles of humanity.Redha’s wife, Zainab Issa, was in a difficult situation due his detention. Zainab underwent Caesarian-section to save her child after she suffered from cerebral hemorrhage. She lost her life after a long coma and left her newborn with a detained father in the crackdown on dissidents demanding democracy./129
