(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society has announced the death of the youth Sadiq Sabt. Sadiq died of his injuries after he was deliberately run over about a month ago in Sehla, west of the capital Manama.
Sheikh Ali Salman, the secretary-general of Al-Wefaq had described the incident during a Ramadan open discussion as attempted murder with premeditation because the driver who ran over the youth had drove his car in wrong side of the street.
2 days ago, Sheikh Ali Salman commented on the youth’s death on his Twitter account, saying, “The one who murdered Sadiq Sabt is free pursuant to the Prime Minister’s statement: “These laws are not applied to you and us”".
Sabt was admitted to the extensive care unit in Salmaniya Hospital and remained there until his death. He had sustained a skull fracture injury on top of the bleeding in his lungs and nose and bruises in his chest.
The martyr’s home was raided while he was on pursuit before he had been run-over. His family is waiting for the security apparatuses to takes measures against the murderer. However, the security apparatuses, Public Prosecution and the Judiciary remained silent towards the obvious crime which gives an example of the impunity and encouragement to crime in Bahrain.
Al-Wefaq issued a statement at the time declaring the incident the second of the kind as the first was a run-over of a youth in Dar Kulaib area several months ago. The youth nearly lost his life. The driver, however, left right after the incident. Yet, the official parties have not taken any measures to hold him accountable.
