(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - House raids on Thursday, August 22, 2013 totaled up to at least 20 raids spread in 9 areas in different districts in Bahrain. Regime forces conducted a series of illegal raids by force-breaking into houses, 12 citizens were arrested during the raids. In the island of Muharraq, east of the capital Manama, forces raided homes in the Bomahr and Al-Sagha and Hiyak neighborhoods. The raids started at 2:30 am and went on until 6:00 am and in which 9 were arrested. A citizen in Al-Dair village was arrested from the street of the village and another in Manama was arrested in a brutal way and his child and parents were degraded and abused.Among those arrested was the father of Ali al-Mushaima, the first martyr of the revolution in Bahrain, Abdul Hadi Saleh al-Mushaima (50 years). As the regime mercenaries raided his house in Al-Daih village early morning and arrested him without legal warrant. While witnesses confirmed that the forces took the martyr’s father to several areas until noon, for unknown reasons. It is worth mentioning that Abdul Hadi al-Mushaima is suffering from diabetes, however, he was made to stay in the force’s bus for more than 4 hours. When he needed to use the bathroom they pulled over in the street in Seef District, and told him to urinate in the street with his hand cuffed, a menial and degrading act. His family went to Al-Khamees police station, Hamad Town and the Investigations department but received no answer on his whereabouts and were unable to give his medicine. The early morning raids included many areas which are: Mrozan, Sanabis, Jidhafs, Karbabad, Shahrakan, Juffair, Muharraq and the capital Manama. On the other hand, regime forces fired toxic gases intensively on citizens in the residential area of Shahrakan on Wednesday evening, as residents were surprised by the mercenaries taking this action as there was no protest in the area at the time. This indicates a systematic disregard for the lives of citizens as part of the official terrorism and the suppressive security campaign that continues to target the safety of citizensRepression and oppression reached many areas of Bahrain as a part of collective punishment and systematic targeting of citizens in their homes as punishment for their opinions and calls for a democratic transformation in Bahrain. /129
