(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The National Democratic Opposition Parties in Bahrain expressed their condemnation of the political and security irrational measures taken by the regime in Bahrain.Such repressive measures are due to the regime’s fear of the planned peaceful pro-democracy protests on August 14th. The regime is further tightening the security measures against political and Human Rights activists. Homes of many innocent citizens have been vindictively raided, more military checkpoints have been activated everywhere in Bahrain.Amid this official security escalation, the activist Muhammad Sanad al-Magana, a member in the National Democratic Assemblage, has been arbitrarily arrested at Bahrain international airport who was leaving with his family for an Eid vacation. The opposition parties condemned al-Magana’s arbitrary arrest and called for his immediate release. Repressive measures, arbitrary arrests and home raids can not produce sustainable stability in Bahrain, the opposition parties stated. Adding, only serious negotiations between the regime and the opposition can make the desired change and achieve political and security stability. The opposition parties pointed out that Mohammed Al-Magana encourages nonviolent movement as he is a member of the National Democratic Assemblage Society and exercises political activity publically. However, arresting such activists will radicalize the moderate political activity, and is against international covenants and the International Covenant of Political and Civil Rights. The opposition parties in Bahrain plea to the international community and human rights organizations to act and urge the regime to stop the unlawful security measures taken against dissidents as this violates the international law as well as international human rights principles. Such measures are alarmingly threatening the political situation in Bahrain, the opposition added, and they are taken to avoid political resolution to fulfill the aspirations of the Bahraini people. The National Democratic Opposition Parties -BahrainFriday, 9th August 2013/129
