Bahrain: Abandonment of law by the authorities is a dangerous scandal

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Al Wefaq National Islamic Society in Bahrain has said that the abandoning of the law, by the authorities, is a dangerous scandal and the continuation of this method is in contravention of the constitution, law, Islamic Shari’a and international covenants. As a result the state and rule of law are frozen and replaced with chaos and anarchy, it added.Al Wefaq stated. “No apology has been offered to the people for this scandal, proving that this is not a mistake but the project of the regime. It is clear that all parties and officials in the Bahraini Authorities are adopting this policy of impunity, since they remain silent on the statements of the Prime Minister, the Head of the Government, who is lacking in legitimacy. This serves to deepen the belief of the people that there is a vital need to build a democratic state based on equality. The Head of the Government, paid a visit to an officer accused of torturing Bahraini medics, assuring him that the law will not reach certain people, including members of the Royal Family. Al Wefaq said this statement proves that state institutions implement such a policy, whilst the law is used when it is needed and abandoned when not needed by the regime. The vengeful methods that have long been used by the authorities against citizens are the motive behind the wide practice of violations and the outrageous infringements of law, humanity, norms and religion.Al-Wefaq added, “The absence of discharge or denial by the judiciary and so-called Legislative Institution of disabling the law means they are fully obedient to the family’s doctrine. Therefore, there is an absence of institutions that respect, and are keen to, implement the law”./129
