First Chinese e-library on Shi’ism displayed at Quran fair

A digital library containing works on Shi’ism in Chinese has been showcased at the 21st International Quran Exhibition.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The digital library encompasses over 35,000 pages about Islam, the holy Quran, Shi’ism, Shi’a jurisprudence, the house of Prophet Mohammad, dictionaries, Persian books on Chinese learning and Chinese books on learning Persian. 

Speaking with IBNA, Hujatoleslam Asgar Aghaei, best known as the Chinese Cleric, said the software entails a section about Iran and its tourist attractions, history, great leaders, poets, literature, Chinese rendition of Masnavi Manavi, Hafiz’s Divan, and Sadi’s Bustan and Golestan in Chinese. 

As he said, the collection is accessible in Persian and Chinese for interested users and provides Iran’s map in Chinese as well as the location of mosques in China. 

He further asserted that the dictionaries provided in the collection are Persian to Chinese, Chinese to Persian, English to Chinese and Arabic to Chinese. 

The Chinese Cleric went on to add that that the collection is the first of its kind in the world of Islam and won the first runner’s up prize at the Digital Media Festival in 2011. 

The 21st International Quran Exhibition is being run at Tehran's Grand Imam Khomeini Prayer Ground and will wrap up on August 6.
