(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Leader of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria, his eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky condemned the killing of Sheikh Hasan Shahata in Cairo, Egypt by Salafi Takfiri group.
Speaking after weekly Quran interpretation at Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah Zaria on Wednesday the 26th of June 2013, Sheikh Zakzaky expressed with dismay how can the Takfiri group consider their condemnable actions as Islamic!
On June 23, hundreds of Takfiris group surrounded and attacked the house of Shia cleric Sheikh Hassan Shahata in the village of Abu Mussalam in Giza Province when the Sheikh with his students were commemorating the birthday anniversary of Imam Mahdi(AJ) in his residence.
Carrying different kind of arms such as sticks, knives, cutlasses, iron rode etc, The Takfiri group brutally killed him and three of his followers and dragged their bodies on the streets- an event which generated condemnations from all parts of the world.
Takfiris are the folllowers of Ibn Taimiyyah and Ibn Abdulwahab, they claim that only their interpretation of Islam is correct and believe that all other Muslims are infidels.
