(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The 55th International Al-Quran Recital Assembly to be held at the Putra World Trade Centre from today until July 6 offers a 350gm gold bar, besides other prizes for the 'Qari' and 'Qariah' champions.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said other prizes that the main winners would receive besides the gold bar worth RM70,000, are RM40,000 cash, a trophy, token and certificate.
"We have received a confirmation from 72 participants, comprising 42 Qari and 30 Qariah from 42 countries.
"However only 56 participants would be selected for the recital throughout the eight-day assembly," he told a media conference after launching the logo and stamps in conjunction with the assembly, in Putrajaya, Friday.
He said Malaysia would be represented by national Qari and Qariah winners, Anuar Hasin from Perak and Hanimzah Jalaluddin from Pahang.
Earlier, the minister said the new logo would be maintained as the official logo in future assemblies.
"In conjunction with the assembly, the Islamic Development Department will print 500 sets of corporate stamps for the public, which can be obtained at the department's booth during the competition," he said.
