(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Qandil has strongly condemned a recent deadly attack on Shia Muslims that left at least four people dead and several others injured in a village south of the capital Cairo.Qandil deplored the incident as a “heinous” attack against Shia Muslims in a statement issued on Monday, and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice."This heinous crime is incompatible with the principles and teachings of all heavenly religions, and contrary to the nature of religious tolerance in Egypt," the premier said in the statement.The Egyptian prime minister also expressed his "categorical rejection of hate speech and incitement to violence" and said investigations were underway, adding that those responsible would be held accountable.On Sunday, four Egyptian Shia Muslims were killed in an attack carried out by Salafi extremists when a crowd of several hundred assailants attacked a home and then set it on fire in the village of Abu Mussalam in Giza province.After the brutal incident, Egypt’s security forces were sent to the village to disperse the crowds and contain the situation.Shias, who make up only one percent of Egypt’s population of 84 million people, are often under attack by extremist groups in the North African country. /129
