The clerics council in Bahrain launches the “Islamic Unity Document”

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Olamaa Islamic Council* in Bahrain has launched the “Islamic Unity Document” under the slogan, “An identity of religion, logic of intellect, necessity of life”. The document is launched to reject sectarian conflict and entrench Islamic unity and brotherhood in the Muslim nation.The document was presented in a press conference on Tuesday (18th June 2013) in the Olamaa Islamic Council. The opening of the document stated, “In light of a perceptive Islamic and political vision, that is based on the holy Qur’an, the prophet’s Sunna, the logic of intellect and necessities of life, and amidst the dangerous challenges the Muslim nation faces today, we, in the Olamaa Islamic Council, express our deep belief and firm adherence to the principals of Islamic unity and coexistence”.The Olamaa Islamic Council called on all intellectuals and religious establishments of the Muslim nation to adopt and adhere to the document “to prevent the nation slipping into sectarian conflicts which produce nothing but weakness and failure”.The document declared a number of principals including;-          The sanctity of the blood of every Muslim who declares his belief in Allah the all mighty and his Prophet Mohammed (pbuh).-          To treat all Islamic sects according to what is declared in their references and to not depend on peculiar opinions.-          To respect the differences in all Islamic beliefs and theories as a guaranteed right to all and that must not be turned into conflict.-          To reject all incitements of sectarian strife from any side.The Palestinian Issue and the role of clericsThe document also affirmed that the Palestinian issue is a central issue to the Islamic nation and the legitimacy of the resistance to the occupier. It emphasized on the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation between Muslims, peoples and Governments, for the good of the Islamic nation. The document called on all Muslims to avoid sectarian siding and promotion of sectarian strife.The document said, “Clerics, intellectuals and the political systems have a big responsibility to protect the Islamic nation from slipping into sectarian conflict and to face extremism and fanaticism and entrench moderation”.Dangerous global challenges threaten the nationSayed Majeed Al Mishal, President of the Olammaa Islamic Council, said in the press conference, “The sectarian fighting between Muslims cannot be justified. There is no room for tolerance in this great truth that represents the bold line in the Islamic movement in life”.Al Mishal stated that the document contains humanitarian principles and is able to embrace all religions other than Islam. “The document represents grounds for coexistence between all. Our hands reach out to our Sunni brothers”.Sayed Mohammed Hadi Al Ghuraifi, spoke on behalf of Islamic institutions in Bahrain. He stated, “This is a historic document that clearly calls for unity between all Muslims. The Islamic nation is facing grave changes and is being pushed into conflict and division. A hateful sectarian project is targeting the factions of this nation for the interest of the global arrogance.
