(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The holy books were confiscated at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Port Klang and Johor Baru entry points in the first half of this year. About 80% of the books were printed in Indonesia and the rest were from China. “The Quran copies were not cleared by the ministry and we are concerned that they could contain phrases or words that were (wrongly) translated, giving a different meaning to the text. “We are worried that it will cause readers to deviate from the faith,” Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said after a meeting with two of the ministry’s agencies in charge of overseeing the distribution of Quran here yesterday. The agencies were the Quran Text Control and Printing Licensing Board and the Lajnah Tashih Al-Quran. Dr Ahmad Zahid said the two agencies have been tasked to advise the ministry on matters relating to the Islamic faith based on existing syariah laws.End item/ 149
