Eminent Egyptian Quran Reciter Dies

Egyptian Quran Master Muhammad Abdul-Hadi Al-Hilbawi passed away on Saturday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to a report by the Supreme Quran Council, Master Al-Hilbawi who had been suffering from diabetes for a long time passed away at the age of 67. Born on September 2nd, 1946, in Cairo, Al-Hilbawi started memorizing the Quran in childhood. In recitation, he imitated Sheikh Muhammad Raf’at and Ali Mahmoud and in Ibtihal he learned a lot from Zakaryia Ahmad and Taha Al-Fashni. After years of gaining experience, Al-Hilbawi received a certificate from Al-Azhar religious center. The veteran Quran reciter travelled to Iran three times at the invitation of the Supreme Quran Council, the last time in 2012. In his last visit, he held specialized courses on Quran recitation, Ibtihal and Tawasheeh for Iranian Quran reciters.End item/ 149
