(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Sheikh of Al-Azhar said practical steps should be taken to prevent crimes committed against Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslims from happening again, IINA reported. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayyeb made the remark in a meeting with Khalidin Salih Touban Secretary General of the Muslim Judges World Commission, adding that Arab and Muslin states should use legal means to put pressure on Myanmar government. Imposing economic sanctions against Myanmar is one way to put pressure on the country’s ruling regime, he said. Elsewhere in his remarks, the Al-Azhar sheikh underlined the need for unity among Muslim scholars all around the world. He said Al-Azhar believes that Muslim Ummah’s salvation lies in enhancing unity and staying away from discord.
