Bahraini capital among top 10 sin cities

A new report says the Bahraini capital, under the rule of Al Khalifa dinasty, has turned into a hub of sex tourism especially for Saudi males.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  A new report says the Bahraini capital, under the rule of Al Khalifa dinasty, has turned into a hub of sex tourism especially for Saudi males. The report on the website askmen.com gives Manama a ranking of 8 among the top 10 ‘Sin Cities’ in the world. It says the causeway that links the island Persian Gulf state to the Saudi mainland is a popular spot for Saudis who want to “go clubbing, mingle with the opposite sex, and if they’re really daring, they can pick up prostitutes.”The report adds although the practice is illegal, it is widely available. While Bahrain is a Muslim country, for many Saudi males, this proximity to a Western-like state is luring them to jam the causeway and fill flights to Manama every weekend. This is while Bahrain is in the midst of a revolution that erupted in mid-February 2011.The Saudi –backed regime has clamped down on anti-government protesters calling for the Al Khalifa royal family to cede power. On March 14, 2011, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates invaded the country to assist the Bahraini government in its crackdown on the peaceful protesters.According to local sources, scores of people have been killed and hundreds arrested.Bahrain also enjoys America’s support as it is host to the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in the region./129
