(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “An Introduction to Islamic Development Bank” is the title for the most recent book published by Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture to provide an introduction on the biggest Islamic commercial organization, IDB.The seven chapters in this book include an introduction and discussions on the duties of bank, member states, share-holders, subgroup organizations and also the facilities of the banks. Part of the book’s foreword introduces Islamic Development Bank as the greatest international financial institution among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The bank aims at promoting economic and social developments of OIC members and Islamic communities in non-member states across the world according to Islamic Sharia principles. Back in 20th October 1975, in cooperation of 22 Islamic countries Islamic Development Bank was founded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. These members have increased to 56 members from Asia, Africa, Europe and America. “An Introduction to Islamic Development Bank” also explains the duties, members, shareholders and special banking facilities provided by IDB and subgroups of the institution including International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICIEC) as well as Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI).End item/ 149
