Austria Shiite Imam: Raiding Ayatollah Qassem’s House, A Move Against Entire Muslim Ummah

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Director of Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center in Vienna said the recent raid on the house of Bahrain’s Shia leader Ayatollah Issa Qassem is a move against the entire Muslim Ummah.Issuing a statement on Tuesday, May 21, Hojat-ol-Islam Mahmoud Montazeri condemned the attack by the forces of the al-e Khalifa regime.Bahraini forces raided Ayatollah Qassim’s home in the village of Diraz on Friday, May 17,and searched the house.Hojat-ol-Islam Montazeri warned the Bahraini regime against any move that might endanger the safety of the Shia leader.He also noted that Europe’s parliamentary delegation has announced after a visit to Bahrain that human rights are being violated in the Persian Gulf country, peaceful protestors are treated with violence and freedom of Bahraini people are violated.“We are standing by the Bahraini people and support them,” Director of Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center said.He also referred to Ayatollah Qassem as a symbol of Bahraini people’s resolve, saying that the government of Bahrain is responsible for guaranteeing protection for the Shia leader of Bahraini people’s uprising.Hojat-ol-Islam Montazeri also stressed that the issue of Bahrain is not a Shia or Sunni issue but the reality is that the majority of Bahraini people seek their legitimate rights. /129
