(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Taher al-Hashemi, a member of the International Union of al-Bayt condemned Friday raid against Sheikh Isa Qassim - a prominent Bahraini politician and Shiite cleric - warning that such an attack against one of the Shia Islam most revered and respected figure is not only endangering peace and stability but represents a severe violation of the sanctity and inviolability of one's home.
In a statement to the press al-Hashemi noted, "We deplore with much sadness and anger the attack on Friday morning against Sheikh Qassim. Such an assault in the dead of the night, such an intrusion and violation of one's home and intrusion on one's family is not tolerable."
He added that Bahrain Security Forces had worked in collaboration with the Peninsula Shield Forces - under the control of Saudi Arabia - to terrorize Sheikh Qassim's familiy members - women and children -
He warned that such an unlawful and unreligious intrusion on Sheikh Qassim's residence would lead to a dangerous escalation of the conflict and would as such threaten peace and stability in Bahrain.
Al-Hashemi called for an investigation into the matter, He asked that those responsible for such violations be taken to court and judge according to their crimes. He noted that dozens of homes across Bahrain had been raided without any justification.
