(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a press conference at al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, the head of the Liberties and Human Rights Department (LHRD) in al-Wefaq and member of the Bahraini civil delegation to Geneva, Sayed Hadi Al-Musawi, said the delegation has recently invited the office of the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial killings to Bahrain for the many cases of extrajudicial killings committed by the Bahraini regime against the protesters. In addition to the cases of execution which are considered of the highest importance to the Special Rapporteur on torture who is to visit Bahrain between 8th-16th May after his visits have been postponed more than once.

Al-Musawi pointed out that defendants in two separate cases have been recently transferred to the Dry Dock prison and this is considered a preamble for the visit of the Special Rapporteur on torture because he will ask to meet certain persons by name, while the authority knows that the detention centers the two groups were put in is infringes the law and their transfer is to escape the Rapporteur's notice.

The 15 member delegation visited Geneva during the 22nd session of the Human Rights Council which was held between 25th February and 22nd March 2013. Al-Musawi said the delegation met a judge who was a member of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry. He mentioned that the delegation also met with the World Organisation Against Torture, which has tried to convince Bahrain to be part of international covenants on torture, however, concluded from Bahrain's refusal that it feared accountability.

Bahrain has the third highest flow of complaints of violations on ban on freedom of expression, killings against citizens through official violence, hatred speech in official outlets and harsh prosecutions, he added, this reveals the huge magnitude of human rights violations in Bahrain as well as the fact that Bahrainis are becoming more active in human rights documentation and communication.
