Suleimanpoor: Basra, Bushehr and Muscat should set norms for the region

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of Foreign Ministry's Center for International research and education stipulated: “Regional dialogue among Bushehr, Basra and Muscat is aimed at building regional norms based on sublime regional norms namely dear Islam.

According to ABNA, Head of Foreign Ministry's Center for International research and education stipulated: “Regional dialogue among Bushehr, Basra and Muscat was aimed at building regional norms based on sublime regional norms namely dear Islam.

Hadi Suleimanpoor, on Sunday 10th March 2013, on the first day of International conference "Bushehr, Basra and Muscat; Socio-historical relations", stating that today we experience transitional period of regional system previously based on Cold War, added: “One of the manifestations of transitional period of regional system is returning to regional values and rejecting secular ruling."

He added: “Another manifestation of the regional system is the reflection of people's will in the structure of power. Activation of social network in the production and distribution of information is also another manifestation of this regional transition."

Suleimanpoor mentioned the inclination toward consensus and unity as another sign of transitional period and added: “During no period there has been such an inclination toward unity."

He mentioned the knowledge-based research universities as another sign of transitional period and further said: “University play a pivotal role in presenting regional criteria based on regional norms."

Stating that universities are a place to create norms, Suleimanpoor added: “Universities are obliged to create norms based on regional norms."

He went on to say: “Regional dialogue among these three cities is aimed at building regional norms based on sublime regional norms namely dear Islam."

Suleimanpoor considered the convergence as a necessity in the region and added: “Without convergence, historical experiences show that during transitional period of international system and regional system, the region will be a loser in this period."

He considered regional universities as the grounds to reach unity and expressed hope that universities of Bushehr, Basra and Muscat can provide the raw materials for convergence in the fields of research and foreign policy studies.

The first day of international conference of "Bushehr, Basra and Muscat; Socio-historical relations" was held with the attendance of Iranian and foreign scholars and thinkers in Persian Gulf University of Bushehr."

In this two day conference starting on Sunday morning 10th March 2013 ayatollah Safa'ee Bushehri", supreme leader's representative and Friday prayers Imam of Bushehr, "Hadi Soleimanpour" head of Foreign Ministry's Center for Internationl research and education, "Isaq Salahi" head of National Library and archives of Islamic republic of Iran, "Seyed Muhammad Mojabi" deputy of science and technology at Tehran Municipality's Center for Studies and Planning and "Dr Ahmed bin Salim Ba'omar" head of Oman's Center of Diplomatic studies attended this conference and delivered speeches.

This international conference was held with the cooperation of Persian Gulf University, representative of Foreign Ministry in Bushehr, Union of Islamic Universities in South Western Asia, Governance of Bushehr Province, Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcasting, Tehran Municipality's Center for studies and planning, Bushehr Municipality, and Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. It is the second round of a conference already held in Basra University.

Sultan Qaboos University and Basra University also cooperated to hold this conference.
