Basra- Bushehr-Muscat Conference Concludes

The Conference on Basra- Bushehr-Muscat: The Social and Historical Relations concluded yesterday. The Sultanate, represented by the National Records and Archives Authority, participated in the conference that was held in the Islamic Republic of Iran on March 10th-11th.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Conference on Basra- Bushehr-Muscat: The Social and Historical Relations concluded yesterday. The Sultanate, represented by the National Records and Archives Authority, participated in the conference that was held in the Islamic Republic of Iran on March 10th-11th.The Conference discussed a collection of topics, most notably the elements of the local identity in the region with special focus on art, architecture, social and cultural relations and their historic role in building our contemporary world.A group of lecturers and researchers from Iran, Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman participated, along with four researchers engaged in the history of the region from Turkey, Japan, France and the Netherlands, participated in the conference. Dr. Juma bin Khalifa bin Mansoor al-Busaidi, Director General of the Directorate-General for Research and Records Circulation and Talib bin Saif al-Khudouri, Assistant Director of the Department of Access to Records.The Basra-Bushehr - Muscat maritime route is seen as a symbol of the historical maritime relations in the region and is the line that helps to strengthen the structure of social relations and cultural development in the region, where the study in historical features associated with these three cities could provide a ground for cooperation and assistance in the region because of the interrelationships among historical ports of the region and the relationships that exist between these cities./129
