Bahrain: Expropriated powers must be given back to the people

"Bahrain needs its two main parties to sit to the dialogue table or negotiation to reach a real and permanent national solution that is approved by the people. The ruling family must truly participate in and not run-away from the dialogue table" said Majeed Milad.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The member of the National Democratic Opposition Parties' team to dialogue, Majeed Milad, said Bahrain needs its two main parties to sit to the dialogue table or negotiation to reach a real and permanent national solution that is approved by the people. The ruling family must truly participate in and not run-away from the dialogue table, Milad added.

"If the regime wants to dialogue with the people by proxy or through supporters and pros, this reflects the reality of the problem in the nature of the relationship and the mistrust between the ruling family and the people", he said.

Milad explained that the opposition is insisting on the ruling family's participation in dialogue because the expropriated powers of the people are not in the hands of a certain political group, the ruling family holds these powers.

On the referendum, Milad said, "it is not an issue of controversy, disagreeing to the referendum means disagreeing to the people's right and it means that the current situation contradicts with the people's will which is an essential base for the legitimacy of any ruling power and constitution.
