(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society condemned the court's acquittal of the killers of Issa Abdul-Hasan, 61, who's head was blown with fire arms. This reflects the judicial authority's disgraceful indulgence and disregard with criminals and murderers.
The killing of Issa Abdul-Hasan sparked outrage in the Bahraini community which had never witnessed such horrible and shocking scenes. Nonetheless, the Court of Appeal ruled on Sunday 24th for the acquittal of his killers, alongside the acquittal of the killers of the 23 year old martyr, Ali al-Mo'min, wjo was killed in a brutal manner on the same day on 17th Feb 2011.
Al-Wefaq mentioned that a journalist of an international news agency had witnessed the murder, but just days after she gave in her testimony, she was arrested and tortured in custody by the security services in Bahrain.
Al-Wefaq considered the court's ruling in the two cases of extreme brutal killings, and which took place during the regime's crackdown on the "Pearl revolution" protests, a total disvalue and disregard to the Bahraini blood and reflects a policy of impunity that protects the regime's officials and torturers in order to give them as much space possible for more crimes to be perpetrated against its dissidents.
Al-Wefaq stressed that the acquittal of the two policemen who killed Abdul-Hasan and al-Mo'min with fire arms, make the need for fair and independent necessary prosecutions a necessary to bring criminals and killers to justice disregard of their posts. It also emphasizes the necessity to fulfill the rightful demands of the people of Bahrain.
The two martyrs were killed in an extremely brutal and horrible manner and this revealed the ugly reality of the regime's practices against the people, by responding with fire arms and causing more than 100 deaths over the past two years.
Al-Wefaq pointed out that the court's rulings come with other rulings of light sentences in cases of murder like the murder of the martyr Ali Ni'ma and Hussam al-Haddad revealing a systematic policy undertaken by the official departments of the regime and the absence of justice.
