(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a statement issued on Wednesday, al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that the Thai parliamentary delegation's visit to Bahrain is an opportunity for the Bahraini regime to observe Thailand's experience of a constitutional monarchy. Bahrain can benefit from the Thai experience in the building of the state and a constitutional monarchy, al-Wefaq added.
The statement emphasized that constitutional monarchies are based on peaceful transfer of power, and most are based on parliaments and an elected prime minister, else, it is considered an absolute monarchy and described as fascistic dictatorship and it cannot provide stability and development.
Such types of monarchies have started moving towards either democratic constitutional monarchies or democratic republics, this is by virtue of the course of history and the movement of the peoples, as well as the early alertness of some regimes that absolute monarchies cannot stand in the face of natural transitions in the world, al-Wefaq said.
The people of Bahrain are keen to achieving a constitutional monarchy like the British and Spanish monarchies so Bahrain can be a stable and developed democratic state.
