Bahrain opposition delegation to Russia meets with president of Bahrain Friends Society

Bahraini opposition delegation to Moscow met with the President of the Bahrain Friends Society, philosopher Alexander Prokhanov, Thursday evening, February 7th

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Bahraini opposition delegation to Moscow met with the President of the Bahrain Friends Society, philosopher Alexander Prokhanov, Thursday evening, February 7th , who had sent an invitation to the Bahraini opposition to visit Russia. The meeting included a group of strategic Russian theorists and orientalists as well as the head of Russia's Centre for Strategic Studies.

Mr. Prokhanov expressed his solidarity with the people of Bahrain in their struggle for the legitimate demands and said he was pleased to meet the Bahraini opposition delegation and is happy to visit Bahrain in the near future.

The opposition delegation presented the opposition’s viewpoint in the Bahraini crisis and the possible ways to achieve the demands of the people. The delegation was pleased to find the Russian philosophers and strategic theorists very understanding as they have showed their support through their writings, lectures and good relations with decision making sources in the Republics of Russia, and their attempts to make positive impact on the Bahraini situation to achieve real democracy.    

The delegation highlighted that it is important for Russia to play a bigger role in the Middle East and the Arabian Gulf to find a way out of the crisis in Bahrain by pressurizing the Bahraini regime to respond to the demands of the people of Bahrain, especially that Russia has decent stances in principles of justice and equality.   

The delegation thanked Mr. Prokhanov for his invitation and invited him to visit Bahrain to observe the situation on ground. Mr. Prokhanov also promised to encourage the Russian media to further support the peaceful movement in Bahrain in its just and legitimate demands.
