(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The activists censured the silence of Western countries over the rights abuses during a recent seminar called the Bahrain Revolution Week held in London.Stephen Sizer, an author and activist participating in the event, told Press TV, “If we uphold the rule of international law, if we stand for freedom and democracy, we can’t be partial as where we apply these principles. The democracy in Bahrain is just as legitimate as democracy in Europe.”The uprising in Bahrain suffers from little media attention, which helps the Manama regime cover its crimes, the activists stated.Bahrainis have been staging demonstrations since February 2011, demanding political reform and a constitutional monarchy, a demand that later changed to a call for an end to the rule of the Al Khalifa family following the regime’s brutal crackdown on popular protests. The Bahraini regime has arrested many rights activists, doctors and nurses ever since.Bahrainis say they will continue holding anti-regime demonstrations until their demand for the establishment of a democratically-elected government and an end to rights violations is met. /129
