(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Winners of the Khartoum International Holy Quran Award were awarded at the closing ceremony, IQNA’s ICRO branch reported. The jury panel announced Abdul Rahman Muhammad Kuma from Mali as the champion of the contest, while Muhammad Abdullah Adam Abu Is’haq and Abdullah Mustafa from Algeria jointly won the second rank. Abdul Hamid Ahmed from Saudi Arabia and Jamal Al-Kiti from Australia came third and fourth, respectively. Iranian representative Hassan Zarnoushe Farahani who had a perfect performance won no better rank than 5th. This is while the first three winners had made several mistakes in their performance and few would have thought Zarnoushe Farahani would not be among the first three top winners. Khartoum International Holy Quran Award was established in 2007 at the order of President Al-Bashir. The 4th edition of the international competition began on January 7 at the central building of Sudan’s Holy Quran Society in Khartoum. Headed by Samih Ahmad Al-Khalid from Jordan, the jury panel of the contest comprised of Quran experts from Morocco, Algeria and Sudan.End item/ 149
