Akhtari pointed to the raise of al-Qaeda elements around the Muslim world including Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and other Muslim states, adding that al-Qaeda network and Taliban have always enjoyed training and support of the US to become the dominant force in the Muslim countries.
“Glory of Muslim Ummah depends on revival of Islamic civilization; the Islamic Republic founder late Imam Khomeini reintroduced Islam to the international community and paved the way for progress of Muslims and realization of Islamic values in various societies.”
The religious leader noted that there are big challenges towards realization of Islamic values including the US conspiracy to divide Muslims and provoking ethnic violence among Muslims.
Anti-government protesters have been holding peaceful demonstrations across Bahrain since mid-February 2011, calling for an end to over 40-year old al-Khalifa dynasty.
Violence against the defenseless people escalated after a Saudi-led conglomerate of police, security and military forces from the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) member states - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar - were dispatched to the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom on March 13, 2011, to help Manama crack down on peaceful protestors.
So far, several protesters have been killed, hundreds have gone missing and thousands of others have been injured.
