Massive Crackdown on Protesters in Bahrain

The Al-e Khalifa regime forces on Tuesday night launched a massive crackdown on protesters who had gathered at Pearl Square in Manama.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to Sawt Al-Manama website, the protest rally had been called by the country’s February 14 Coalition.  Security forces attacked the demonstrators by tear gas and sound bombs.  Demonstrations were also held against the Al-e Khalifa regime in other parts of Bahrain.  The participants in the rallies chanted slogans calling for the implementation of justice against those responsible for killing Bahraini people and the withdrawal of Peninsula Shield Forces from the country.  They also called for the release of all jailed activists and said they would continue the movement until their demands are met.  The February 14 Coalition said different groups of Bahraini people who attended the rally at Pearl Square were committed to peaceful protest but the security forces provoked violence.  Bahrain has been the scene of an uprising against the ruling Al-e Khalifa regime in the past months.End item/ 149
