Iran: Hajj Encyclopedia to be Published in 15 Volumes

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Alizadeh-Mousavi said three volumes of the work have been published so far and two more are ready for publication. He said Hajj has a huge potential given the large number of Hajj pilgrims from Iran. Every year, some 1 million Iranian pilgrims go to Hajj and many more are waiting for their turn, he added. Also many Muslims from the 57 Islamic countries as well as European and American countries go to Hajj. This is a great opportunity for introducing Shia Islam and we can have a positive interaction with other countries in this opportunity, said Hojat-ol-Islam Alizadeh-Mousavi. He Underlined that there should be efforts for fundamental theorization in the field of Hajj. The cleric further referred to the activities of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Center, saying that it was established in 1991 and since then has published some 1000 books in the fields of theology, Islamic beliefs, ethics, etc. He went on to say that the center is also translating works into languages such as Malay, Chinese, English, Indian, etc.End item/ 149
