(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Abdullah Shafiabadi said there are stories in the Quran that present maxims and can be used for inferring scientific theories in the field of psychology.
He noted that the goal of religion is paving the way for a peaceful and happy life in this world and the next but in Western psychology, they are only after giving men peace in this world.
Shafiabadi underlined that elevation of religious beliefs and values in society would help to prevent mental and psychological problems.
Religious beliefs and commitment to Islamic values enhances people’s mental and psychological health and if, for any reason, they encounter health-related problems, they can regain their health faster and more easily, he stated.
He further called for joint sessions between Quran scholars and psychologists to exchange their expertise and views.
Islamic views, especially in the field of psychology, can serve humanity gain salvation in this world and the Hereafter, the university professor went on to say.
