Qom – the Shi’a Holy City in Iran

Qom was large regional city even before the Islamic era. The discovery of architectural building in this area brings indication that since 5th millennium before BC, Qom has been used as residential area. This is the holiest city in Iran which means that non-Muslims visitor will not be allowed to enter the city.

The discovery of architectural building in this area brings indication that since 5th millennium before BC, Qom has been used as residential area. This is the holiest city in Iran which means that non-Muslims visitor will not be allowed to enter the city. This city also had become the religious leaning center and the opposition of Ayatollah Khomeini was starter from this city. This city is kind of desert area so people should avoid visiting time during summer or winter. Spring is absolutely the best time for planning trip to this city.

The religion university becomes the main landmark which cannot be separated from the history of this city for sure.  On the other hand, there are various places which can bring special experience to visitor including Howzeh Lake, Feyze seminary, Fatima al Massumeh shrine, Mar’ashi Najafi library, and also the Jamkaran Mosque. The access to this city can be taken using the Imam Khomeini International Airport and from the airport, people are able to take public transportation to the city of Qom. Taxi and local bus is offered with quite impressive service as well as reasonable price to explore the city of Qom.

People are able to find the shops which are selling candy as well as carpet in this city but of course the special offer comes from the beautiful rug from silk.
