(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Speaking with IBNA, Younes Nourbakhsh expounded on his book’s contents, saying it offers an overview of religious coexistence between followers of various religions and show that a society can be peacefully kept with its citizens living together and helping each other in various walks of their lives. He held that coexistence is higher than peace and absence of war, explaining that the issue was first considered in 1922 by Nikita Khrushchev, first Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 1953-1964, during the cold war. The issue was then considered in social and cultural contexts rather than politics. Peaceful coexistence means mutual understanding, endeavor and cooperation according to the legal precepts for recognition of everyone’s rights. Nourbakhsh went on to say that his book assesses coexistence from various viewpoints in Islam, Christianity, sociology and communications. The book is a collection of articles by scholars of various fields arranged in 8 chapters. Imam Sadegh University Press has released the book in Iranian book market.End item/ 149
