(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Despite the the security provocateur presence around the square, the citizens insisted on attending heavily in a civilized manner that reflected the true Bahraini culture throughout its history in the struggle and its efforts toward freedom and dignity.
The first speech was given by the family of the injured young man Aqeel AbdulMohsen, who had been injured by shotgun pellets in his face by regime forces and militias a few days ago, his face was torn and his jaw badly hurt. The family emphasized their gratitude to the people of Bahrain which have not stopped showing their support from the moment they saw the wounds of Aqeel that were caused by the brutality and terrorism of the regime forces, they also thanked the opposition parties for their initiatiative to contact the family. Moreover, they have confirmed that it was a premediated murder attempt, and the government's claim that Aqeel tried to run over the police is a false claim.
The second speech was given by Fadhel Abbas the Secretary General of the Wahdawi political society, in which he said that Bahraini citizens have toppled the regime's decision to ban protests, and there is no fear for the people in expressing their opinion, all the fear has ended since 14 February 2011 with the start of the revolution. Mr. Fadhel has also stressed that the regime has resorted to violence through killings, but the opposition remains determined that there should be courageous dialogue, starting by dismissing this deadly government and replace it with a national coalition government, this only needs a courageous decision. He also explained “there is no room to return previous situation, today the Manama Dialogue takes place, and I tell all nations that their stance must be fair”.
For his part, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs in Waad Association Mr. Yousif AlKhaja said “In the few last days a delegation of the High Commissioner for Human Rights came, and they met with government side and with loyalists societies in which they heard from them the same weak and broken narrative and which is known by the whole world to be untrue as many international human rights organization had confirmed its falseness and reaveled the propaganda in regime's stories. The delegation have met with families of martyrs and detained as well as with human rights organization and political opposition parties which all have submitted documents and strong evidence on the huge size of violations which are unaccepted and convicted by all the democratic countries and the international organizations that are related to Human Rights, plus the condemnation by our people and the rejection of this escalation by security forces which is destroying the society and blocks the road toward a democratic civil state. Mr. Yousif continued stressing that there is no longer chance to escape the implementation of the recommendations of BICI and the recommendations of Geneva.
Explaining that the public relation firms which are draining tens of millions of the public money can not serve in distorting the facts, and the world is no longer believing the repeated lies which are said every morning by the state media and press and the hired writers who sold their consciences and manners for a handful of dinars. He continued “The exit of the political constitutional crisis which our country is affected with is for the security mentality to leave and to stop all the violations practiced by many of the authorities by lifting the sieges on the areas and returning all the patrols and riot police back to their barracks to start a security detent though the full and faithful implementation of all the recommendations that emerged from the Bassiouni committee and global council of Human Rights, including the release of all political prisoners on the reinstating of positions and opinions, starting with the Secretary General of Waad political society Ebrahim Sharif and all the political leaders. Also, to hold accountable those who committed crimes of torture and extrajudicial killings, to pave the road for dialogue and negotiation between the government and the opposition on the based on the Crown Price initiative, the Manama Document and the declaration of non-violence principles issued by opposition societies on 7th of November”.
He also added “We believe that the peaceful struggle is the only way to achieve our legitimate demands and we reject attempts pushing toward violence which will only sink the country and there will be no winner but all Bahrain would lose. As we can see that the path to national unity is a goal we seek, renounce and confront sectarian tensions by building partnership and interactions with all the political and religious aspects in the society on the ground of equal citizenship protected by a modern constitution that emphasizes that the people are the source of all powers.
Last speech was given by Alwefaq Secretary General Sh. Ali Salman, a speech that inflamed the audience “the regime in Bahrain runs away from serious dialogue while the opposition is demanding and insisting on it”, he also pointed out that who is responsible for violence is who began practicing it and continued using it a core for its actions.
Shaikh Ali Salman also welcomed the participants of Manama Dialogue which is held in conjunction with the popular protests in Bahrain, he said "You come for dialogue in Bahrain while a genuine dialogue in Bahrain is unaccepted, the opposition is demanding it while the authorities are evading it, tell the authority that they must listen to the dialogue of your people and hear their demands, we welcome you, but make your presence positive and do not be counterfeit witnesses”, he also stressed that the post of prime minister is to serve the people by popular mandate and anyone who is not pleased by that can leave, he said, “We do not want anyone to appoint our legislative authority nor the government without our will, that era has ended”. He also stressed that the opposition is not seeking to build a religious or sectarian state but a modern democratic state that guarantees the rights of everyone.
