(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Massive rallies took off from Sayyed Al-Shohadaa complex in the southern suburb of Beirut Sunday morning in a procession to commemorate the Karbala calamity that took place on the tenth day of Muharram year 61 of the Hegira.

Tens of thousands of Imam Hussein (as) lovers dressed in black and chanted slogans of allegiance to the third Imam and voiced rejection to any sort of oppression.

With their fists raised up high, "At your service o Hussein" they screamed, "At your service of Messenger of Allah", reassuring that the calamity that fell on the prophet's household over one thousand years ago because of the small number of supporters, will not take place again because there are brave people ready to sacrifice themselves and their loved ones for the sake of Islam, righteousness, and the awaited Imam.

"Death to America… death to Israel" they further  repeated constantly, a phrase Imam Hussein followers chant every year on Ashoura, as they consider that these are the tyrant and oppressor of our day, just like Yazid was the tyrant in the days of Imam Hussein (as).

People also screamed in support of Gaza, saying "At your service o Gaza", only days after a ceasefire was announced between Israel and the besieged Gaza strip.

Ashoura this year was revived in Lebanon under the title "At your service, o Messenger of Allah", which was chosen by Hezbollah months after similar rallies took to the streets of various towns of Lebanon to reject the insult of the noble prophet Mohammad by an American film director.

After the procession, people headed towards the Al-Raya playground where Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah delivered a speech on the occasion via large screen.

Large Lebanese, Palestinian, and Hezbollah  flags were raised in the field, and near the stadium was the map of Palestine with "Fajr-5 is the dawn of Palestine" written on it.
