(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On the occasion of Muharram month, the philosophy of Imam Hussein’s (AS) resistance on the day of Ashura was clarified at a mourning ceremony held earlier this week in Nairobi, Kenya.
The program was organized by Iran's Cultural Center in Nairobi, the capital city.
Addressing the ceremony, Hojat-ol-Islam Mousawi Fahri clarified the philosophy of Imam's (AS) resistance to the arrogant front and narrated some parts of the sermon Imam Hussein (AS) presented on the day of Ashura.
He said that: “The Imam (AS) said ‘the swindler son of swindler had left me to choose between death and humiliation, but there is no way humiliation could find route to us. God, His Messenger (PBUH) and our pride would neither wish us nor let us obey those vicious mean people.’”
The scholar added that after the martyrdom of his companions, the Imam (AS) said ‘and now the wrath of Allāh shall befall this community, who has united to kill the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH). Beware! By Allāh! I shall not agree to their desires until I meet my Lord drenched in my blood.’
The program began with Ziyarat Ashura and continued with elegies performed by Yazdan Panah.
Mourning ceremonies on martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) are also underway in other cities of Kenya such as Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu, Nakuru, etc.
