(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - With all concern, the opposition parties in Bahrain are following the regime's barbaric, inhumane and brutal crackdown against the people of Al-Eker which is completely besieged, banning everyone from getting in or out of the area. The siege includes even ban of basic food from getting to the people in the area of al-Eker. The opposition parties are also concerned of the non-stop home raids that have been ongoing since yesterday as well as the assaults and abuses committed against citizens inside homes.
The opposition parties are demanding for an impartial committee to investigate in all what has been happening in Al-Eker for the last two days. The opposition parties consider such practices perpetrated by such a regime as an extrajudicial revenge against the citizens and residents in Al-Eker, which totally contradicts with all international treaties and conventions and the pledges made by the regime in front of the international community, which are supposed to commit it to respect human rights. As the opposition parties condemn all kinds of violence from all sides, they stress that the regime's behavior could potentially result in an exchange of outlaw revengeful acts, then more unfair trials will take place. The regime must lift the siege off Al-Eker and allow tings to get back to normal as soon as possible.
In al-Eker, the regime taking further its adoption of the oppressive security solution, which has failed to bring stability and peace to Bahrain. However, what is urgently needed is the political solution and an end to the security solution. The opposition parties in Bahrain plea to the international human rights organizations to take serious stance to stop the collective punishment that is being undertaken by the regime against citizens and residents in Al-Eker.
