(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan inaugurated with South Africa's President Jacob Zuma an Islamic-Ottoman style social complex in the South African capital of Johannesburg on Thursday.
Paying a formal visit to South Africa, Caglayan participated in the inauguration ceremony for a social complex in Johannesburg.
South Africa's President Jacob Zuma, Prime Minister of Gauteng province Nomvula Mokanyan, Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists Chairman Rizanur Meral, Turkish Exporters' Assembly Deputy Chairman Mustafa Cikrikcioglu and several Turkish businessmen attended the ceremony beside Minister Caglayan.
Following the ceremony, Caglayan and Zuma were informed about the social complex by the officials.
"This social complex becomes a meeting place for all religions and beliefs. This significant social complex will be on the list of people who should firstly visit in the country," said Caglayan.
The complex, called the Nizamiye Külliyesi, was commissioned by Ali Katırcıoğlu, a 74-year old Turkish businessman. In addition to a mosque, it will include a Turkish school, shopping facilities, a medical clinic, a restaurant and an academy of Islamic sciences.
The mosque inside the complex is a smaller replica of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne. Its construction began three years ago.
The complex is named after Nizam al-Mulk, an 11th century statesman of the Great Seljuk Empire.
