Nigeria: Anti-Islam Film - Muslims Urged to Boycott American, France Products

The Council of Imams and Ulamas, Kaduna State chapter has called on Nigerian Muslims to boycott American and France products for producing anti- Islam film and cartoon against Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

KADUNA, Nigeria (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Council of Imams and Ulamas, Kaduna State chapter has called on Nigerian Muslims to boycott American and France products for producing anti- Islam film and cartoon against Prophet Muhammad (SAW).According to the council, there is no way Muslims will continue to support countries that publicly show hatred towards the Prophet.Addressing newsmen at a press conference in Kaduna, the chairman of Ulamas in the state, Sheikh Usman Abubakar Babantuni described the two nations as enemies of Islam and Muslims."We are calling on all Muslims in the world, particularly in Nigeria to boycott all American and France products. There is no way these people will ridicule our Prophet( SAW), yet we aid them economically by patronizing their products," he said.On the deportation of female pilgrims from Mecca, Sheikh Babantuni said the Federal Government should urgently resolve the matter."No good government will hold its arms and watch while its citizens were subjected to such humiliation to the extent that even the Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia was denied access to the affected persons."This is very unfortunate and unacceptable! We strongly condemn it. The Nigerian government should stand up to its responsibility of protecting the right and reputation of its citizens," he added./129
