Exquisite copy of Nahjolbalagheh to be unveiled

A copy of Nahjolbalagheh scribed during the Qajar dynasty will be unveiled in a ceremony on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Imam Reza (8th Shia Imam).

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to secretary of the ceremony, the copy is considered as the most valuable copy of Nahjolbalagheh which was written by a group of calligraphers during the Qajar dynasty.

Writing of the copy was supervised by Mohammad Hussein ibn Ali Alkar Arsanjani, one of the greatest calligraphers in the history of Iran. Arsanjani’s works is comparable with those created by Vesals’ and Neirizis’, asserter Mohammad Kazem Haghshenas in an interview with us.

The work was accidentally found in a private collection of exquisite works, he asserted.

The unveiling ceremony of the copy will be held on Thursday at Milad Tower in Tehran. Ali Akbar Velayati, the supreme Leader’s international advisor, and a number of Iran’s cultural officials will attend the ceremony arranged at the international conference hall of the tower.

Nahjolbalagheh comprises various issues that cover major problems of metaphysics, theology, fiqh, tafsir, hadith, prophetology, imamate, ethics, social philosophy, history, politics, administration, civics, science, rhetoric, poetry, and literature. The book not only reflects the spirit of early Islam and the teachings of the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad, but also serves as a guide to traverse the future in the light of these teachings.

Nahjolbalagheh is a collection of 241 sermons, 79 letters, and 489 utterances. As per each new publishing versus past volumes, the number of sermons, letters and utterances has varied from 238 to 241, 77 to 79, and 463 to 489, respectively.

The book narrates from Imam Ali on a wide variety of topics, ranging from the creation of the World, the creation of Adam, end of the Universe and the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi.
